An OECD survey of 1200 tax officials in 138 countries has revealed a mistrust of the legitimacy of the Big 4's tax strategies for clients. The problems cited ranged from overly aggressive tax strategies, to a lack of transparency, to illegitimate lobbying. These are the largest accountancies in the world, and they are under serious scrutiny. Do we expect any blowback on local or regional accounting firms? What impact could we expect this to have on the industry as a whole?
